VOLUNTEER AT THE FARM!

We couldn't do it without you!

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Farm in the Dell! Your dedication of time is invaluable in making our mission come to life, and we couldn't do what we do without you.

What shifts are available?
We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities to accommodate individuals or groups of any size. During our growing season (May - October), volunteer shifts are generally available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additional shifts may be added throughout the growing season to accommodate special projects.

If you have special requests to accommodate dates, shifts, group sizes, projects, etc. please contact our team and we'd be happy to help. Otherwise, sign up for a shift following the instructions below!

Sign up to volunteer using the steps below.
If you need help, get stuck, or have any additional questions about the process, please reach out to our team and we'd be happy to help: cerbele@fidrrv.com or 218.277.3766

Please note that in order to provide the best possible experience for our volunteers - as well as maintaining a productive and safe working environment for our Garden Engineers - we do ask that all volunteers sign up for an available shift before making your way to the farm.

SCHOOLS, CORPORATE GROUPS & MORE

If you are volunteering with a group of more than 10 people OR if you would like to coordinate a volunteer shift for a school, work, or church group, reach out to our team using the button below - we'd be happy to help!

DON'T FORGET YOUR WAIVERS!

All volunteers must fill out a waiver prior to their shift. If the volunteer is a minor, form must be filled out by a parent/guardian. Fill out an online waiver below, download a PDF copy, or complete a paper form once you arrive at the farm.

Age Guidelines
All ages are welcome on the farm! However, children ages 13 and under must volunteer with a parent/caregiver.

Preparing for your shift
Get ready to have some fun! We want our volunteer shifts to be a positive and meaningful experience, helping to connect you to the farm and our awesome community. Depending on the time of year, volunteers have the opportunity to help with projects like planting, weeding, harvesting, cleaning, etc.

Below, you can find more information about what to expect along with some tips to help you prepare for your shift and ensure you have a great time.

WHAT TO WEAR/BRING

Dress for the weather! Plan to wear appropriate attire for working outdoors in the dirt and sun. Closed-toe shoes or boots are required, but we also encourage you to wear long pants, a breathable shirt, sunglasses, and/or a hat.

We encourage volunteers to bring gloves, sunscreen, bug spray, and a water bottle, though we do have extra on hand.

WHERE TO GO

All volunteer shifts take place on the farm, located at 7426 40th Street N in Moorhead, MN.

When you arrive, feel free to park anywhere in our gravel parking lot and head to the red check-in shed. A member of our team will be there to welcome you and help you get started with your shift!

WHAT TO EXPECT

Depending on the weather, shifts will largely take place outdoors - so come prepared to get a little dirty! Most tasks will also include some form of physical activity.

Want more info? Feel free to review our Code of Conduct, Safety Guidelines, and more using the button below.

A few final notes

e will notify volunteers with any shift changes or cancellations in advance. If you are signing up using our online portal, please be sure to provide an up-to-date email address and/or phone number so we are able to contact you, if need be.

ACCESSIBILITY & SPECIAL REQUESTS
Farm in the Dell strives to be an inclusive environment, and we want everyone to feel comfortable on the farm!
